Developer Mistakes Fixed Without Costly Litigation

Problem: How does a new building’s board deal with construction defects and shortcuts taken by the original developer?

Solution: Argo has managed this newly built condominium since its completion in 2001. During the first winter after it opened, the waste lines started to freeze. We worked closely with the board of directors to address this serious and potentially damaging problem, and were instrumental in hiring an engineer to conduct a building-wide survey of the envelope and all mechanical systems. Argo negotiated with the condo developer and was successful in compelling him to correct all deficiencies at its own expense, and also secured a cash settlement. Without expensive litigation, all repairs were completed at no cost to the building. Plus, as part of this settlement, the property obtained valuable basement space and storage lockers originally retained by the developer.
